ISAIAH ABBOTT DEAD Was One of the Well Known Old Timers: Isaiah Abbott, one of the old settlers of this city died this morning at 5 o'clock at his home, 710 South Main Street. He had been suffering for some time past with an abscess in his side and his heart was affected and death resulted Ike Abbott as he was commonly called was one of the best-known characters around this city. He was 62 years old and had lived here for many years and was well known by the older citizens. Mr. Abbott was a great hunter and fisherman. He spent most of his time hunting. He was a crack shot with a gun. The deceased served in the rebellion in Co. H, 134 Illinois Volunteers. Mr. Abbott lived by himself in a single two-room house on South Main Street. His place is near the Maffit Ice House and he watch the place and he also work at the cemetery. Although he lived alone Abbott lived decently. He kept his house neat and clean and himself was quite a pleasant and respectable old man. He was tall and slim and wore a long white beard and was a typical hunter.
