NOTE ON LOTS, PLOTS & SINGLE GRAVES (SG)
Most of the sections in Greenwood are called "BLOCKS" except for the two sections directly south of the office which are DIVISION 2 (formally DIVISION 1) and DIVISION 3 (formally DIVISION 2).
Each BLOCK is divided up into LOTS. Each LOT is divided into 6 PLOTS. This would be for 6 adults. If babies are involved there can be 3 in one PLOT. Sometimes with babies or loved ones that were cremated they were added at the head of a PLOT or next to the stone. The above is true for BLOCKS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 17A, 18, 19, 19A, TERRACE, DIVISION 3 and CENTRAL BLOCK.
DIVISION 2 and most of BLOCK 7 are set up as double LOTS. There are 12 PLOTS for 12 adults in 2 rows. There is a EAST row and a WEST row.
The POWERS ADDITION was originally a private family cemetery on land owned by Orlando Powers. Now part of Greenwood it is divided into 4 sections with SINGLE PLOTS.
BLOCKS A, B, C, D, 15, 20, 21, 22 and the POTTERS FIELD are set up as individual plots (SINGLE GRAVES). It seems like these were used a lot for children and the poor.
