FUNERAL OF JAMES K. CARTER
The funeral services of Uncle Jimmy Carter were quite largely attended yesterday afternoon. The Masonic brethren turned out in good numbers and at about 1:30 marched in procession to the residence of Mr. E. V. Falconer, son-in-law of the deceased, where the remains were. Taking the body in charge they bore it to the Christian Church, where an interesting and impressive service was conducted by Elder N. S. Haynes, whose remarks on the occasion were exceedingly appropriate, and of such a character as must have been consoling to the friends. The church was well filled by citizens who wished to testify of their respect for a good man. At the conclusion of the services the body was again taken in charge by the Masonic fraternity and borne to Greenwood Cemetery, where it was committed to the grave in due form according to Masonic rites.
