DECATUR -- Mary E. Cooper, 74, of Decatur passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016
in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Mary was born on December 1, 1942 in Springfield, IL the daughter of
Otis and Florida (Walker) Jones. She was a member of the Decatur Lebanon Seventh-day Adventist
Church. She was a retired CNA working for St. John's Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital. She
married James Cooper. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1976. She leaves to cherish fond memories
her daughters, Megan & Dana Cooper; brothers, William & John C. Jones; sister, Joyce Williams; six
grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Otis, Samuel, and Robert. Burial
will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
