DECATUR -- Mark Anthony Crim, 55, of Decatur departed this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his residence. Mark was born on July 14, 1963 in Metropolis, Illinois the son of Dempsey Crim and Mary Judy (Crossland) Crim-Chambliss. Mark graduated from Joppa High School (Joppa, IL) with high honors where he played basketball, baseball and was a drummer in the band. He earned his Certificate of Electronics from WAEI in Wichita, Kansas. He was a certified Microsoft Engineer. He taught Microsoft classes at the Training Channel in Champaign, IL. He worked for Advanced Filtration where he was a Robotics Engineer. He was also a computer consultant for State Farm. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and played the drums. Mark enjoyed traveling, and especially loved cruises. He was also an avid reader and loved music. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Mary Judy Chambliss of Decatur, IL; spouse, Cynthia Crim of California; children: Kirsten Crim of California and Tory Crim of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Nayvadius and Xerxes Crim; sister, Hope (Parris) Crim-Wallace of Richmond, VA; niece, Patience Wallace, nephews: Thailan and Kai Wallace and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Crim of Joppa, IL, maternal grandparents, Luther and Lou Bertha Crossland and paternal grandparents, Alfester and Avery Crim. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Community Temple Church of God in Christ (759 South Jackson St.) with Rev. Alphonso Hodges officiating. Visitation: 9:00 am-11:00 am at the church. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
