Roderick Gene Dale, 52, of Decatur departed this life on Thursday, September 23,
2010 at Aspen Ridge Care Centre.He was born on November 12, 1957 in Decatur, Illinois the son of
Mattie King Dale and Willie Dale, Jr. He worked as a machine operator at Midstate Core and formerly
worked as a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Andrea (Derrick ) Thompson of Decatur, his mother,
Mattie Dale of Decatur; brothers: William Dale III of Riverside, MO, Timothy Alan Dale of Denver,
CO, Troy Lane Dale of Cameron, NC, Martin Trent Dale of Killeen, TX; sister, Joan Michelle Dale of
Decatur; 2 grandchildren; one aunt, Lucille Bowers, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great
nephews, and other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his father and his brother,
Marta Rico Dale.
Services will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at St. Peter A.M.E. Church with Rev.
Vivian Clarington, officiating. Visitation one hour before service at the church. Burial: Greenwood
Cemetery.
