Michael Dandridge, 63, of Decatur departed this life on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Michael was born on August 11, 1954 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Willie Mae Dandridge and Earmon Joyner. He was raised by his grandparents Jesse and Lizzie Grandberry. Michael graduated from Eisenhower High School. In 1987, he united in Holy Matrimony to Elizabeth Taylor. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ the Living God where he served as an usher and on the Male Chorus. He previously worked at Bodine Services for 13 years. Michael leaves not to mourn but to cherish his loving memories: his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Dandridge; children: Tocora ( Daryl McClelland) Taylor, Michael (Amanda Mizell) Bartholomew Dandridge, Jeremy Zaccheus (Jazmine) Dandridge and Meiguan Elizabeth Dandridge all of Decatur; brothers: Elder Nathaniel (Pamela) Dandridge of Decatur, Gregory Dandridge, Jesse Dandridge all of Decatur, IL and Landis D. (Sharonda) Dandridge of Nashville, TN; stepmother, Dorothy Joyner; sister, Clarene Joyner of Decatur; grandchildren: Dezariah Taylor, Mykiaya Taylor, Mia Noel Dandridge and Kylan; aunt, Jessie Laverne Grandberry Williams of Decatur; uncle, Steve Grandberry of Decatur; sister-in-laws: J. (L.B.) Taylor of Atlanta, GA, Mary J. Carroll of Decatur, Howard (Ann) Taylor of Maryland, Earl "Champ" Taylor of California, Joann (J.C.) Gooch of Atlanta, GA, Madeline Taylor of Decatur, Barbara (Pastor Sam R.) Owens of Decatur, Loleatha "Hugga" (Duane) Murray of Forth Worth, TX, James L. "Bo" Taylor of Decatur; mother-in-law, Dorothy Taylor of Decatur; special niece, Francelia "Franny" Harris-Thomas of Decatur and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brothers, Frank and Ernie Dandridge, Frederick and Michael Joyner; sister, Mildred Lee Harris, granddaughter, Cesley Taylor, nephew, Sharvez Dandridge and father-in-law, John L. Taylor.
