Luella Evans 96, of Decatur, Illinois departed this life on October 8, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital at 11:55 p.m. Luella Evans was born to the union of Sylvester Glass and Willie Price on March 19, 1920 in Caledonia, Mississippi. She married the love of her life George Evans Sr. in 1935 and to this union seven children were born. She accepted Christ at a young age and later joined Community Church of God. Luella was everything to her family; a homemaker, a loving mother, and an awesome grandmother. She spent her spare time with her 275 descendants, playing BINGO, marbles, and Pokeno. She leaves to cherish her fond memories to her daughter; Georgia Barron: son; Michael (Jackie) Evans: special daughter; JoAnn O'Neal : special grandson; (more like a son) Mark (Patsy) Evans, 42 grandchildren, 102 great grandchildren, 105 great-great grandchildren, and 7 great-great-great grandchildren: special friends; Elizabeth Walker, Deon Cook: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons; Eddie Evans, George Jr, and Victor Evans, daughters; Emma Britton and Victoria Evans: three sisters -in-laws, one brother-in-law, and eleven grandchildren. The family of Luella Evans sincerely appreciates your thoughtfulness and prayers during their time of sorrow. Special thanks to St. Mary's hospital staff, Michelle and Tanja Chargois. May God bless you always.Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
