Jerry Flagg, Sr. 59, of Decatur departed this life on July 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital. Jerry was born on November 5, 1957 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Rufus
Flagg Sr. and Rosie Flagg. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a graduate of Stephen
Decatur High School. He received the father of the year award from DMCOC in 1998 where he
worked for 20 years. He also worked for Aramark and was self-employed until his passing. He
leaves to cherish his loving memories: his children: James Taylor, Michelle Harvey, Shauntae
Green, Ebony Green, Justin Dotson, Jasmine Flagg, Jerica Flagg, Jerry Flagg, Jr., Casarah
Gipson, Candara Gipson, Rodney Mason, Gary Harris and Emmanuel Walker; mother, Rosie Flagg;
brothers, Rugus Flagg, Jr., Curtis Flagg; sisters: Rois Shaw, Helen (Shaw) Lester Manns, Gloria Dinkins, Martha Flagg, Dorothy Flagg, Lula Flagg; special friends: Tina Johnson, Dejuana Frost, Sarah Flagg, Angela Green, Laurie Dotson and Kaye Harvey. He also leaves a host of grandchildren who he enjoyed spending time with along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, brother, Thomas Shaw, sisters: Betty Flagg, Christine Flagg and Cicilla Flagg.
