      Lenora Brack Taylor, of Springfield, formerly of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on September 02, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield Illinois. Lenora was born August 21, 1923, in Brownville, Tennessee. She married L.V. Taylor on February 16, 1946 in Decatur, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1991. Lenora enjoyed cooking especially baking. She was known for her delicious homemade rolls, cakes and pies. She was employed at Blondie Belle Restaurant for many years. Lenora also enjoyed watching professional baseball, football, basketball and national politics on television. At an early age, Lenora accepted Christ. She was a faithful member and one of the original founders of the Greater Northside Missionary Baptist Church. During her years of service, she served in various capacities, as well as being elected as the church's first Clerk. Lenora is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers. She is survived by her sons Leon (Ruby) Taylor of Springfield, Illinois; Elvin (Arzella) Taylor of Dayton, Ohio, and a daughter Bonnie Taylor Anderson of San Leandro, California; one sister Gladys Killion of Champaign, Illinois; one granddaughter Roxanne (Fred) Walker and four grandsons, Lavell Taylor, Maurice Taylor, Cameron Anderson, and Derrick Reynolds. Eleven great- grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren and a nephew Brett (Mable) Taylor of Decatur. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 12:00 noon, at the Greater Northside Missionary Baptist Church, 929 North Lowber Street, Decatur, Illinois with the Reverend Jimmy Waddell, officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the church. Walker Funeral Service is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur.
