Dorothy J. Trainer-Washington, affectionately known as "Ms. Dot", transitioned on Friday, June 22, 2018 in St. John's Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1947 to Weldon and Rachel Trainer in Washington, PA. She worked at Brockway Glass for many years until she met the handsome Jimmie "JD" Washington. They were married on May 20, 1983. She moved to Decatur shortly after. Upon her arrival to the City of Decatur, she became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Guild, as well as a staff member for the nursery. These positions were a natural fit, because she had a big heart and was always taking care of others. After the passing of Mr. Washington, she began babysitting for family and friends. Little did she know; this would become her new career. She loved cooking, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. Dorothy leaves behind cherished family members, daughter Tracey (Eric) Green; step-son: Jimmie E. (Anita) Washington; grandsons: Tyrell (Savion) Washington; Ashton Green; Corey Washington, Nathan Washington; brothers: Jay Bailey of CA, Johnny (Sandy) Trainer of Houston, PA; sisters: Veronica (Kenneth) Wilkins of Washington, PA, Louise Ware and Irene Trainer both of Birmingham, AL; special daughters: French Wilson, Rolanda McGee, Alisa Cole, and Jill Coleman; special friends: Delores Green, James Green Stanley Jones and Gladys Stuart and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Rachel Trainer; her husband, Jimmy "JD" Washington, sisters; Veta Burgess Sanford, Darvey Trainer, Fletcher Cooper-Brown; brothers: Moses Bailey, George Trainer and sister-in-laws: Rebecca Bailey and Patricia Bailey.
