Irving Bernard “Nardo” Washington Sr., 52, of Decatur departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Irving was born on December 2, 1968 in Darling, MS, the son of Lola Love and Benjamin Bams. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL and was employed in his dream job at Homewood Suites. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing poker and dominoes and helping others. His catchphrases like “Got’em”, “My name Lil Meaty”, “Big Bertha a Beast”, “Swearrrr” and “My name Nard Pac” let everyone know that he was in the room. Irving leaves to cherish his loving memories: his fiancé, Pamela Landrum of Decatur; his sons, Irving Washington Jr. of Decatur, Keenan Washington of Decatur and Tyron Young of Kansas City, KS; his bonus daughters, Domecca Landrum, Mya Landrum, Mia Landrum, Aleisha Landrum and Shatia Landrum all of Decatur; his sisters, Gornett Washington of Decatur, Rosie Perez of Milwaukee, WI, Jean Bams of Milwaukee, WI and Ruthie Davis of Clarksdale, MS; honorary sisters, Stacy Clark and Tymori Taylor both of Decatur; his grandchildren Ari’ah Washington of Indianapolis, IN, Aiyanna Washington of Decatur and Kaiden Washington of Decatur; his 7 bonus grandchildren; his mother, Lola Love of Decatur; host of aunts, uncles, nieces including special niece Sharon Bams, nephews including special nephews Antonio Green, Darius Powell and Quantarius Beasley, cousins including special cousins Tyrone Washington, Dwaine Washington, Tony Washington, Jeremiah Washington and Tony Byars; special friends , Marvis Parker, Kevin Hardy, John Ellis, Richard Gray, Obalee Beasley Jr., Brad Watkins and Clarence Banks who he affectionately referred to as “Pops”. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Tiger Love, grandparents, sisters Iola Goines, Elizabeth Bradley and Christine Hatley, uncle Eugene Washington, cousins Nakia Davis, Angeline “Ann” Washington, Kiera Washington and Kiethsha Bowman and special friend Frank “Sambini” Hardy.
